Scholarships for international students

Dream NEW Scholarship

The “Dream NEW” Scholarship is for students from Europe to undertake a study abroad semester in New Zealand. This scholarship has been designed for European students who dream big, crave adventure and set their sights on new horizons. It is for those wanting to realise their vision in the forward-thinking education climate of New Zealand – a country where innovation flourishes, and where people from all over the world come together to follow their dreams.

Korea New Zealand Agricultural Cooperation Scholarships (KNZACS)

The KNZACS provides full tuition fees plus a living stipend for up to 36 months for students from the Republic of Korea, to undertake PhD study in either veterinary or animal science or forestry at a New Zealand university. From 2017, master’s or PhD studies in fisheries will also be offered.

New Zealand International Doctoral Research Scholarship (NZIDRS)

The NZIDRS provides full tuition fees plus a living stipend for up to 36 months for international students to undertake PhD study at a New Zealand university. This scholarship is awarded to a small number of top scholars. Applications for the 2016 round of NZIDRS are now open.

New Zealand – China Doctoral Research Scholarships (NZCDRS)

The NZCDRS are funded by the Government of New Zealand and administered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. They enable up to 10 students from China to undertake a doctoral degree of up to four years in New Zealand.
 

New Zealand Excellence Awards (NZEA)

The New Zealand Excellence Awards (NZEA) are jointly funded by New Zealand universities and Education New Zealand (ENZ). The NZEA gives 35 Indian students the opportunity to pursue undergraduate or postgraduate study in New Zealand in the fields of business, fashion and STEM related programmes (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Each scholarship has a value of NZD $5,000 towards the first year tuition fee.

Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia

The Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Asia (PMSA)  is a new initiative by the government to provide support for New Zealand students to experience study in Asia.

APEC Scholarship and Internship Initiative

In 2014, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) launched a new scholarship and internship initiative to expand education and work opportunities for students and professionals in the Asia-Pacific region. China-New Zealand Doctoral Research Scholarships (CNZDRS)

The CNZDRS enable up to 10 students from New Zealand to undertake a doctoral degree in China. They are funded by the Government of the People’s Republic of China and administered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC).
