Changes to the New Zealand Traveller Declaration Process
The New Zealand Government is introducing an online travel declaration for people arriving into New Zealand.

The new online travel declaration is currently available for travellers arriving into Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown. Travellers arriving into Auckland airport still need to complete a paper Passenger Arrival Card, which will be handed out on-board flights coming in to these two airports.
Travellers into Auckland Airport will be able to complete a digital declaration from late August.
Key information about the online declaration process:
- It is free.
- Takes about 10 minutes.
- It can be completed on a mobile phone or computer.
- It can be completed within 24 hours of the traveller starting their trip to New Zealand.
- The declaration can be completed with the help of someone the traveller trusts or can be completed by someone on behalf of the traveller (with their permission).
- A declaration needs to be completed for each traveller, including babies and children.
- There is a paper declaration form available, for travellers who cannot complete it online.
